Group Ukulele for Adults
Wednesdays, 7:00- 7:45 pm with Jodie Adessa
The ukulele is among the easiest instruments to learn, and most delightful to play. In this class you will learn basic chords, strumming techniques and some of your favorites songs! You’ll leave each class with a smile and some newly learned skills. Students should come to class with their own ukulele. Many online retailers carry beginner models at an inexpensive rate but not all beginner models are the same. Some suggested brands include, Kala, Luna, and Cordoba. $90 for parents with WMA registered chorister
$150 for Adults with no registered chorister
Jodie is an enthusiastic performer and educator who began her career as a musician working in opera and musical theatre. She received both a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from the College of New Jersey, and her Kodaly Certification from Westminster Choir College. Jodie is currently teaching at the Academy for the Performing Arts of Morris Knolls High School in Denville, New Jersey where she teaches the students majoring in Vocal Performance. Besides teaching in the classroom, Jodie teaches private vocal and piano lessons and continues to perform. She is an active member of NAfME, NJSMA, and ACDA. Jodie has been playing the Ukulele and teaching it to students in the classroom and educators in workshops for over five years. She is excited to share her love of ukulele playing with you and looks forward to meeting you in class
