For adults who are new to the Ukulele

Have you been interested in taking up instrument lessons but feel like it might be too difficult? If so, fear no more! In this fun 6-week session, Mrs. Adessa will teach you proper strumming technique, basic chords and the ability to accompany yourself to simple songs.

For adults with previous Ukulele experience 

In this 6-week session, experienced Ukulele players will take their skills to the next level, expanding on different strumming patterns, chords and chord changes, and song accompaniment. 

Students should come to class with their own ukulele. Many online retailers carry beginner models at an inexpensive rate but not all beginner models are the same. Some suggested brands include, Kala, Luna, and Cordoba. Check out this list for best recommended beginner Ukuleles.

$90 for parents with WMA registered chorister
$150 for Adults with no registered chorister 

Meet the Instructor!

Jodie Adessa is an enthusiastic performer and educator who began her career as a musician working in opera and musical theatre.  She received both a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from the College of New Jersey, and her Kodaly Certification from Westminster Choir College. Jodie is currently teaching at the Academy for the Performing Arts of Morris Knolls High School in Denville, New Jersey where she teaches the students majoring in Vocal Performance.  Besides teaching in the classroom, Jodie teaches private vocal and piano lessons and continues to perform.  She is an active member of NAfME, NJSMA, and ACDA. Jodie has been playing the Ukulele and teaching it to students in the classroom and educators in workshops for over five years. She is excited to share her love of ukulele playing with you and looks forward to meeting you in class!
