Susan Passerella is a passionate music educator and administrator, and she is thrilled to begin her new journey as the Operations Manager at Westrick Music Academy after a fulfilling career spanning more than 30 years teaching Band, Choir, Orchestra, and General Music in the Hopewell Valley Regional School District. Ms. Passerella is a TCNJ graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education/Performance and a master’s in Educational Leadership. Additionally, she holds Level I Kodaly Certification and Level I & II Orff Certification from Westminster Choir College, enabling her to contribute diverse educational experiences and expertise to her new role. Ms. Passerella has served on staff at the Music for All Summer Symposium (Ball State University) and participated for many years with the NJ Elementary Festival Choir program and the Central Jersey Music Educators, NJ Region Middle School and High School Region Band Auditions process. Ms. Passerella is a two-time recipient of the NJ Educator of the Year Award, 1996 and 2007, and is an active private instructor and musician, currently playing flute with the Pennsbury Community Band.
As an educator, she has been fortunate to follow her true passions: working with children and sharing the joy of music. She has been an avid supporter of Westrick Music Academy, following along the journey of many of her HVRSD students through the program and attending numerous performances.
Outside of her professional life, Susan finds immense joy in various pursuits, including quality time spent with her family, traveling and exploring new destinations, playing her flute, hiking, reading, yoga, and tending to her gardens. Ms. Passerella calls Titusville home with her husband, three sons, and their loveable dog, Piper.
