François Suhr

Associate Director
Conductor, Apprentice Choir; Collaborative Pianist, Eighth Notes

François Suhr is a passionate music educator, collaborative pianist, and theatre music director. He currently serves as the choral music teacher at Monmouth Junction and Constable Elementary Schools in the South Brunswick School District. Mr. Suhr’s experience as a pianist and music director ranges from numerous theatrical productions at community theatres and schools throughout New Jersey to serving on the music staff for the Broadway Artists Alliance Summer Intensive Program in New York City.

Mr. Suhr served as the professor of graduate-level musicianship classes at the American Kodály Institute at Loyola University Maryland. It is from this institution that Mr. Suhr earned his Kodály certification and Master of Education in Kodály Music Education. He also holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.

Mr. Suhr has presented at conferences with the New Jersey Music Educators Association (NJMEA), North Jersey School Music Association (NJSMA), Maryland United Specialists in Kodály (MUSIK), the NJ Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and Rutgers University Music Education Program. He is a recipient of the American Center for Elemental Music and Movement’s Spotlight Award and South Brunswick School District’s Educator of the Year Award.

An alumnus of the American Boychoir (‘02), Mr. Suhr is proud to serve on the artistic staff at the Westrick Music Academy.
